The most important driving functions in the Hyundai IONIQ 5 are particularly easy to operate. The elegant rotary switch on the steering column replaces the traditional gear selector and ensures clean, intuitive operation.

Switch between driving modes quickly, precisely, and comfortably – without any unnecessary distraction.

Energy recovery.

You can regulate the strength of the regenerative braking using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. During deceleration, energy is recovered and fed back into the battery.

Towing capacity.

With its 800-volt technology, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 charges at up to 240 kW at suitable fast-charging stations. This allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes under optimal conditions.

Just 5 minutes of charging time can be enough to add over 100 km of range – ideal for anyone who wants to get back on the road quickly.

Normal charging with 11 kW onboard charger.

For charging at home or at public AC charging stations, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 features a three-phase 11 kW onboard charger. This allows you to charge efficiently, reliably, and conveniently – perfect for everyday use.

Vehicle-to-Load System (V2L)

With the integrated Vehicle-to-Load system, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 becomes a mobile power source. Electrical devices with up to 3.6 kW of power can be operated or charged via a 230-volt socket.

The autonomous emergency braking assistant detects vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists in front of the vehicle. If the system detects an impending collision, it warns the driver and can automatically apply the brakes if necessary.

Depending on the equipment, the system also provides support when turning or at intersections.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)

The active blind-spot assistant monitors the area beside and behind the vehicle. If the system detects a risk of collision during a lane change, it can specifically brake individual wheels to guide the IONIQ 5 safely back into its lane.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA)

When reversing out of parking spaces or driveways, the cross-traffic alert detects vehicles approaching from the side. In case of danger, the system warns and can automatically apply the brakes if necessary.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)

Lane Following Assist helps to keep the Hyundai IONIQ 5 centered in its lane. This provides extra comfort, especially in city traffic, on country roads, and on highways.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA)

Safe Exit Assist warns occupants if vehicles are approaching from behind when the doors are opened. Additionally, the child safety locks on the rear doors can remain active until the danger has passed.

Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA)

With Remote Smart Parking Assist, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 can be moved forward or backward using the vehicle key. This is particularly practical in tight parking spots, garages, or parking decks.

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Reverse (PCA-R)
