Driver assistance systems and connectivity at a modern level

The Fiat 500e is one of the first city cars with Level 2 autonomous driving. Numerous assistance systems support everyday use and provide more safety and comfort.

These include an emergency braking assistant with pedestrian and cyclist detection, a high-resolution rear-view camera, as well as systems for monitoring the longitudinal and lateral movement of the vehicle. The intelligent adaptive cruise control adjusts speed and distance to traffic and takes into account vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. The lane-keeping assistant helps keep the vehicle in the center of the lane, provided the lane markings are clearly visible.

Additional systems such as the intelligent speed assistant, blind spot assistant, driver drowsiness detection, and 360-degree camera system further increase comfort. The speed assistant recognizes traffic signs and indicates applicable limits. The blind spot assistant warns via a signal in the exterior mirrors of objects in the area not directly visible.

Digitally connected – even outside the vehicle

The Fiat 500e is also well equipped when it comes to connectivity. Depending on the version, it features a 7-inch TFT monitor as the central instrument as well as the Uconnect 5 infotainment system with 10.25-inch touchscreen and integrated navigation system.

Smartphones can be conveniently integrated. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, while Uconnect Services enable additional digital functions via the telematic box module. The Fiat 500e stays connected with its owner even when not in the vehicle. For example, navigation destinations can be prepared or the interior can be pre-conditioned via smartphone before departure – particularly pleasant on hot summer days or cold winter mornings.
